Currently, technology greatly benefits the area of healthcare. Modern computers can quickly process a large volume of patient health records. Due to recent advances in the area of Internet of Things and healthcare, patient data can be dispersed in multiple locations. As a result, scientists have been proposing solutions based on Cloud Computing to manage healthcare data. However, suchs solutions present challenges regarding access latency, context-awareness, and large volumes of data.
There is an increased probability of processing and transmission errors are more likely to occur as health data sets become larger and more complex. In this context, Fog Computing presents itself as an alternative to reduce health data management complexity, consequently increasing its reliability.
To that end, it is important to comprehend the associated challenges before defining a Fog Computing-based architecture to manage healthcare data. This article presents a systematic literature review of fog computing being applied to healthcare area. We propose a taxonomy to explore the open issues and most important challenges on these fields of study. We selected scientific articles published in the last 10 years, filtering the 44 most significant works for an in-depth analysis.
We found that there is several challenges to be addressed such as interoperability, privacy, security, data processing, management of resources and Big Data issues.
Also, our contribution include developing a taxonomy for the Fog Computing and healthcare fields of study and finding out challenges and open questions of this area. Internet Computing pp Cite as. Cloud computing is an evolution of information technology and a dominant business model for delivering IT resources. With cloud computing, individuals and organizations can gain on-demand network access to a shared pool of managed and scalable IT resources, such as servers, storage, and applications. Recently, academics as well as practitioners have paid a great deal of attention to cloud computing. We rely heavily on cloud services in our daily lives, e. Cloud computing also provides the infrastructure that has powered key digital trends such as mobile computing, the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence, thereby accelerating industry dynamics, disrupting existing business models, and fueling the digital transformation.

Developing a smart city to better support growing urban population is a global and complex challenge and involve interdisciplinary fields. A smart city uses digital technologies to enhance performance and wellbeing, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to connect its communities and engage more effectively and actively with its citizens. Key 'smart' sectors include transportation, cloud computing, networking, smart building, energy, health care, and water systems. A smart city should be able to respond faster to city and global challenges than one with a simple 'transactional' relationship with its citizens. This symposium is to bring together computer scientists, industrial engineers and researchers to discuss and exchange experimental or theoretical results, novel designs, work-in-progress, experience, case studies, and trend- setting ideas in the area of smart city include all aspects of smart city with emphasis on algorithms, systems, models, architectures, tools, design methodologies, test and applications.
To strengthen healthcare industry, lot of research work is being done to explore new, accurate and efficient technology for healthcare industry that can monitor and keep track of health of patients in everyday life or in case of accidents and emergencies. Internet of Things based distributed healthcare system interconnects various medical resources using IoT, distributed databases and distributed DBMSs to provide reliable, effective and smart healthcare service to the elderly and patients with a chronic illness.

Fog computing FC is a new field of research and has emerged as a complement to the cloud, which can mitigate the problems inherent to the cloud computing CC and internet of things IoT model such as unreliable latency, bandwidth constraints, security and mobility.
